Bd Safe-Clip "excellent sharps cutter" for syringe users
This product is a needle cutter, removes needle from syringes, of 28G to 31G needles. light weight small and very convenient for cutting your syringe tips off, whether at home or on "holidays/travelling". It stores the needle tips in its body and keeps you safe. The syringe can then be disposed off in the garbage with out fear of "sticking/endangering" anyone.

Great little tool!
We have a cat with diabetes -- two syringes per day, really adds up. Clipper works great, and saves filling sharps containers and having to take them to the Fire Department for disposal. Turns the syringes into safe, ordinary trash.

It is probably OK.
It leaves a 1/2 mm stub. It did not eliminate the "sharps" hazard. The junkies would not be able to use the needle after the tool had done its job, but I would not handle the trash with anything thinner than elbow high leather work gloves. I suspect a knife edge approach would yield a smaller stub of the needle than the scissor approach used by this tool. Maybe a 1/2 mm stub is OK for industry standards, but no one told me before I bought it. I will keep looking for a tool that leaves a safer piece of scrap.

Replaces those big "sharps" containers
Essential for people who use syringes regularly. It clips and retains the complete needle, thus rendering the syringe useless and no longer perceived as a "sharps" item. Holds 1,000 needles; mine is about 2 years old. They do jam sometimes, and you need to remove the clipper, remove the jammed needle, and reassemble. Very useful tool.

Product Is Used Daily
I have been using this product regularly for years. It holds a lot of needles and I haven't had to replace it for a few years. It is also very handy to carry with you in your kit so that you can clip lancets and needles and dispose of them in garbage cans without worrying that they might poke someone. I would highly recommend at least one of these in your supplies whether it be your travel or home supplies. It is just an extra step that makes used needles safer.

Overall a good product
It is certainly nice to be able to clip the needle off and discard the syringe in the trash rather than buying plastic disposal boxes for the whole unit over and over. The only problem I have with it is that sometimes after clipping a needle it sticks down. So far I've been able to shake it, or bang it on something, and make it spring back up. I don't know what causes that. But I'd still rather use it than buy the disposal boxes that don't last long at all. I hope it lasts a long time.

Small, hardy, efficient
The needle clipper can safely and efficiently remove all of the exposed needle on a syringe, keeping it safely in its hard casing. The casing will hold about a year's worth of needles. This makes for much less medical waste - what's left of the syringe can be safely disposed of in regular trash. Inexpensive, great value.

Lightweight easy to use
I have been a diabetic for many years and I am very careful about needle disposal. The BD needle clip is easy to use. It is quick, simple, and holds a large number of used clippings. When it gets full I simply toss it in the garbage. It's really a great product!

I bought two of these about a year ago and have only needed to use the first one - it probably has room for another year in it. While it's essential for travel, I use it daily for two reasons: if you snip the needle tip on a syringe or pen tip, you can throw away everything that is not the actual syringe tip (cap, inner cap, paper)anywhere, like your office trash. I still dispose of the actual syringe and pen tip more discretely. I recommend!

With our cat being diabetic we had no idea how to get rid of the syringes we were using, we were putting them in coffee canisters. Because we buy the syringes from our bet we pay nothing for this little device. It works perfectly once the needle is clipped I just tape the rest of it up throw it away because now it's safe. Definitely recommend. Very easy to use safe.

My State still doesnt let me put the syringe in the trash. But I greatly prefer clipping off the sharp needles before placing the remaining syringes in an approved Sharps container.

Life Changer!
For those of us with no easy legal way to dispose of sharps, this tool is a life saver! Discreet, good quality construction, small enough to fit in a kit. So thankful to find out about this tool. Easy to use, easy to store. So convenient we ordered one just to put in the travel kit as well as one at home.

Would purchase again
A solid container that costs a few dollars less than a similar one I purchased from my vet. FYI: I found out that I can take my filled container of sharps to my recycling center for free, which will also save me money as my vet charges to take back a filled container. Check with your local recycling center to make sure this applies to your state.

Worth every penny!
We have a sweet 12 year old CRF cat who needs subcutaneous injections. I didn't trust placing used needles in a coffee can. With the Sharps Container, we all know exactly where the used needles are and no longer have to worry about where they can be disposed of ( our local pharmacy will take only in the Sharps container).

My previous experience with this type item is great. However, I have not yet used the item ordered but I can't help but wonder why when I shake it, it sounds as though there's a needle in it already. I would really like to know the reason why.
